I downloaded this app so i can know every song playing at nigh any fourth dimension. With the new app, y'all take to manually click it and it only shazams the electric current song. Much preferred when information technology listened to every song it could grab. Dear the redesign, but consider going back to autoshazam please.

Unfriendly to classical music fans

As a classical music fan, I find this a frustrating app. They've gone to the problem of putting thousands of classical recordings into their database, and the app is often successful in identifying relatively obscure items. The trouble is that they haven't bothered to think about how to present the identification. Here'south my latest example: I turned on the radio in midstream of what was clearly a piano quartet or quintet. Information technology was apparently 19th-century French music, and I suspected — from a similarity to a pianoforte trio I knew — that the composer was Fauré. From tempo etc. it seemed we were in the last move. What I wanted to know — what a classical music fan typically wants to know — was the composer and the proper name of the overall iv-movement composition. After a couple of tries, Shazam succeeded, telling me that the piece was 4. Allegro Molto, performed by the Beaux Arts Trio & Lawrence Dutton. That was Interesting, only you lot see what's missing: precisely the two pieces of information I wanted. Now, of form, I could apply this information to identify the piece past Googling, or I could just wait to the end and hear what the journalist says. I conclude, however, that Shazam is not interested in the classical music niche audience. They could easily set up this issue. How about a push for "more data"?

Notched MacBook Pro serious issues

Shazam, supposedly an Apple-friendly app, can neglect to asking microphone access and is consequently useless, equally it's non possible in the Mac Bone to manually add to the System Preferences. The problem? Non simply does the icon get subconscious behind the notch on the new MBP laptops if y'all've more than than even a small-scale number of add-ons here, just when you try to open the app, information technology fails to request microphone access. And the organization-level scaling characteristic to workaround the notch doesn't seem to work. Not certain if this is more for the programmer or for Apple to deal with but information technology is highly problematic. What you accept to exercise is close out of everything else with menubar items to bring the Shazam icon into the flick, and then click on it, and only so volition it even request microphone access in System Preferences. Merely bizarre.
